Our Method
As a studio, Gunner allowed ambitious learners to take a seat and work on personal projects during their business hours. It gave them the opportunity to mentor these non-traditional students as they worked and created projects. Often, this lead to Gunner directly hiring them, offering formal internships, and even helping them find work through industry recommendations.
This kicked off students’ careers simply because the studio was exposed to their talent and problem-solving abilities. The studio became a safe place for artists to challenge themselves and that has become the foundation of our education model.
Studios provide the space. We provide the curriculum.
Students learn at a participating studio, agency, or organization and advance their skills by working through an ever-expanding library of short and long briefs. These briefs are structured to give them information similar to what a client would provide, along with helpful tips and resources.
They tap into our student portal to access our curriculum, participate in online lectures that teach soft skills, and receive remote support as they progress through the program.
Along the way, students have peer reviews, professional feedback, and chances to present their work.
Gunner combines self-directed learning with industry mentorship, both in-person and online.
When working in a studio, artists must be self-starters who can think outside the box to solve problems and deliver for the client. They need to be ready to collaborate with other creatives. Our program is set up to promote and strengthen these characteristics. We aim to develop artists who are collaborative, creative thinkers and storytellers, self-motivated, and curious.
We teach timeless skills only.
Software moves fast, and so does our industry. Our curriculum is developed by partnering with industry experts and is made to teach skills that stay relevant regardless of changes to software or different trends.
Our program can be combined with a traditional internship.
We can partner with you to help foster the development of your interns and junior staff members. We give talent that you bring into the studio opportunities to grow through client inspired briefs, mock client presentations, and extra guidance on how to build a successful creative career.
We don’t interfere with what you provide, our goal is to enhance their time learning in your studio.
